Its combination of vivid red fruit, floral detail and refined structure showcases the finesse of Russian River Valley Pinot Noir, balancing California’s natural fruit intensity with an almost Burgundian sense of precision.

Tasting Notes
The wine displays a graceful, vibrant colour and opens with expressive aromas of black cherry, ripe red berries and pomegranate, layered with rose petal, blood orange and exotic spice. With air, further nuances of cinnamon, allspice and delicate florals emerge, adding depth and complexity. On the palate, it is silky and precise, with a juicy core of red and dark cherries, cranberry and pomegranate. Lively acidity brings freshness and energy, while fine-grained tannins provide structure without overshadowing the fruit. The long, nuanced finish reveals hints of clove, citrus and cool mineral tones. Already compelling, the 2016 vintage has the balance and structure to develop further in bottle over the coming years.

Production
Fog Dance Vineyard is organically farmed on softly rolling slopes near Green Valley Creek in the Green Valley of Russian River Valley. The site’s cool nights and daily maritime fog create a long, gradual ripening season, helping Pinot Noir retain freshness, aromatic detail and finesse. The resulting wine reflects its cool-climate origin through its lifted acidity, vibrant red fruit and refined, mineral-edged character.

Food & Serving
Serve lightly chilled at approximately 14–16°C. Its silky texture and fresh acidity make it an excellent match for roast duck, mushroom dishes, herb-roasted poultry, grilled salmon, pork tenderloin and dishes featuring earthy herbs or gentle spices. Decanting is not essential, but 30–60 minutes in a decanter—or time in a large Burgundy glass—will allow the floral and spiced nuances to unfold.
