Hartford Court Chardonnay Fog Dance 2020 is a refined, terroir-driven expression of California Chardonnay from the cool Green Valley of Russian River Valley. Shaped by the nightly Pacific fog, the wine combines ripe Californian fruit with remarkable freshness, mineral precision and elegant oak, offering a style that recalls the balance and complexity of fine white Burgundy.

Tasting Notes
The wine presents an intense, bright golden appearance. Its expressive nose opens with citrus oil, white peach, mandarin and orange blossom, gradually revealing ripe stone fruit, white flowers and subtle mineral nuances with aeration. On the palate, it is rich and creamy yet remarkably precise, combining generous peach and citrus flavours with lively acidity and restrained oak. A silky texture leads into a long, refined finish marked by freshness, minerality and impressive depth. This is a Chardonnay with excellent cellaring potential and should develop added complexity over the next several years.

Production
Fog Dance Vineyard lies in Green Valley, the coolest sub-region of Russian River Valley, where the regular influence of Pacific Ocean fog extends the growing season and helps the grapes retain natural acidity while developing concentration. The cool climate and distinctive vineyard conditions are central to the wine’s balance between ripe fruit and mineral freshness. The Chardonnay is crafted to preserve this sense of place, with an elegant, creamy texture and measured oak influence complementing rather than masking the fruit and acidity.

Food & Serving
Serve lightly chilled at approximately 10–12°C. Hartford Court Fog Dance pairs beautifully with roasted or grilled seafood, lobster, scallops, roast chicken and creamy poultry dishes. It also complements richer vegetarian preparations such as mushroom risotto, truffle pasta and roasted cauliflower. Decanting is not essential, but 20–30 minutes in a decanter or a few minutes in the glass can help reveal its floral, citrus and mineral complexity.
