Tasting Notes
In the glass, it shows the deep, dense colour expected from a serious Côte-Rôtie. The nose opens with blackberry, red currant, smoke, and leather, with additional savory and spicy nuances layered in behind. On the palate, it is massive and full-bodied, with impressive concentration, rich dark fruit, and building tannins that give the wine real grip and persistence. There is a touch of early accessibility in the vintage, but this remains a serious wine built for time. The finish is long and powerful, with the kind of depth and complexity that should continue to unfold over many years. While approachable in its youth with patience and decanting, its best days are still ahead, and it is expected to reward at least a decade of cellar aging.

La Landonne is one of Côte-Rôtie’s most famous single vineyards, and this 2022 release is made from 100% Syrah, reflecting the purity and intensity of the site. The wine was matured for 42 months in new oak barrels, a patient élevage that adds polish, structure, and additional layers of complexity to the naturally concentrated fruit. The result is a wine with the hallmark depth, richness, and formidable tannic framework associated with this historic slope in the Northern Rhône.

Food & Serving
This is an excellent match for richly flavored dishes such as grilled ribeye, slow-braised lamb, venison, or game with dark sauces. It also works beautifully with truffle dishes, aged hard cheeses, and hearty mushroom preparations. Serve at around 16-18°C, and decant well in advance if opening young, ideally 2-4 hours before serving to help the wine open up.
