Tasting Notes
In the glass, it shows a deep, dark purple hue that hints at its concentration and intensity. The nose is layered and complex, with dark berries, violet, pepper, liquorice, spice, and subtle toasted notes unfolding over time. On the palate, the wine is rich and focused, offering dense fruit, lively acidity, and silky tannins that give it both structure and elegance. The finish is exceptionally long, suggesting excellent aging potential over many years, and likely decades in a strong cellar.

Production
La Turque comes from a prime site on the Côte Brune, where schist and iron-rich soils lend the wine its mineral backbone, grip, and distinct sense of depth. The grapes are hand-harvested, then co-fermented before the wine spends around 40 months in new French oak, a slow élevage that adds polish, spice, and seamless integration to the final blend.

Food & Serving
This is a wine that deserves equally refined food: think roasted lamb, venison, beef tenderloin, duck breast, or rich dishes with mushrooms and truffle. Serve it at around 16-18°C, and decant well in advance if drinking young to allow the aromas and structure to fully open.
