Crafted from Nerello Mascalese with a touch of Nerello Cappuccio, it captures the finesse, tension, and aromatic complexity that define the best wines from Mount Etna’s slopes.

Tasting Notes
In the glass, it typically shows a translucent ruby hue, reflecting the finesse of the blend rather than sheer power. The nose is lifted and expressive, with red cherries, wild berries, dried herbs, orange peel, and smoky volcanic nuances, all framed by subtle floral notes and a stony minerality. On the palate, it is medium-bodied and precise, with bright acidity, fine tannins, and a savory, mineral-driven finish. The wine is built more on elegance and length than weight, and while already highly drinkable, it has the structure and freshness to develop beautifully over the next several years.

Production
San Lorenzo comes from one of the historic contrade of Etna, where volcanic soils, altitude, and strong day-to-night temperature shifts create ideal conditions for Nerello Mascalese. The vineyard’s old vines and challenging terroir contribute to naturally low yields and concentrated fruit. Vinification is typically handled with a light touch to preserve the grape’s perfume, texture, and sense of place, allowing the volcanic character to remain front and center.

Food & Serving
This wine pairs beautifully with roasted lamb, grilled duck, mushroom risotto, aged cheeses, and Sicilian-inspired dishes with herbs, eggplant, or tomatoes. Serve slightly cool, ideally around 16–18°C, and give it a short decant if opening young to let the aromatics fully open.
