Giorgi Metodo Classico Blanc de Noirs Lodola is a refined Italian sparkling wine crafted entirely from Pinot Nero, expressing the elegance and precision of Lombardy’s famed terroir. Made in the traditional Metodo Classico style, it offers the structure of a fine Pinot Noir with the finesse and vibrancy of top-quality bubbles. This Blanc de Noirs stands out for its purity of fruit, long, creamy mousse and its ability to rival classic sparkling regions while retaining a distinctly Italian character.
Tasting Notes
In the glass, Lodola typically shows a pale straw to soft golden hue, often with delicate copper glints that reveal its Pinot Nero origins, topped by a fine, persistent perlage. The nose opens with fresh notes of green and yellow apple, ripe pear and white peach, layered with hints of brioche, toasted hazelnut and a gentle floral touch—think acacia blossom and wild herbs—alongside subtle mineral undertones.
On the palate, it is dry, precise and beautifully balanced, with a lively, well-integrated acidity that keeps the wine taut and refreshing. Flavors of crisp apple, citrus zest and stone fruit are wrapped in a creamy texture from extended lees aging, giving a subtle pastry and almond complexity on the mid-palate. The finish is long and clean, with a chalky, saline edge and a fine, lingering mousse. Enjoy it now for its vibrancy, or cellar for 3–5 years to allow additional toasty, autolytic notes to develop.
Production
Sourced from carefully selected Pinot Nero vineyards in Lombardy—most notably the hilly, limestone- and clay-rich zones ideal for sparkling wine production—this wine reflects the cool yet sunny conditions that help preserve acidity and aromatic finesse. Grapes are typically harvested by hand to ensure only the healthiest, optimally ripe clusters are used, with a focus on gentle handling to protect the delicate Pinot Nero fruit. After a soft pressing of whole clusters to obtain only the finest, lightly colored must, the base wine undergoes primary fermentation in temperature-controlled stainless-steel tanks to preserve freshness. The second fermentation takes place in the bottle according to the Metodo Classico, followed by an extended period of aging on the lees, which builds texture, depth and the fine, persistent bubbles that characterize Lodola. Disgorgement and a carefully judged dosage complete the process, aiming for a poised, gastronomic style.
Food & Serving
Giorgi Metodo Classico Blanc de Noirs Lodola is a versatile sparkling wine that shines both as an aperitif and at the table. It pairs beautifully with oysters, scallops, shrimp cocktail and other fresh seafood, as well as sushi, sashimi and delicate fish crudo. Its structure from Pinot Nero also makes it an excellent match for charcuterie, soft and semi-hard cheeses, light poultry dishes, veal carpaccio and refined vegetable dishes such as asparagus risotto or mushroom tart. Serve well chilled at around 6–8°C (43–46°F). A brief 5–10 minutes in the glass is enough for it to open up; decanting is generally not necessary, but pouring into generous sparkling wine flutes or white wine glasses will best showcase its complexity.

Their commitment to Pinot Nero, both as a still and sparkling variety, has earned them recognition for producing wines that combine regional authenticity with polish and precision. The Metodo Classico range, including Lodola, showcases Giorgi’s expertise with long lees aging and careful blending, positioning the winery as a benchmark producer for refined Italian sparkling wine in Lombardy.
