Tasting Notes
After more than two decades in bottle, the wine shows a beautifully evolved bouquet of black cherry, dried roses, tar, licorice, leather, and oriental spices, lifted by a distinct mineral edge. The color has likely softened into a refined garnet tone, while the aromas continue to unfold with remarkable complexity and nuance. On the palate, it remains impressively alive, with Nebbiolo’s classic framework of firm tannins and fresh acidity now seamlessly integrated with layers of mature fruit, tobacco, spice, and earthy depth. The finish is long, layered, and resonant, and while the wine is fully entering its mature phase, it still has the structure to remain compelling for years to come.
