Fratelli Recchia’s Valpolicella Classico Le Muraie Ripasso MG 2019 is a single-vineyard expression of one of Veneto’s most beloved winemaking traditions. Crafted using the more exclusive Recioto pomace rather than the usual Amarone leftovers, it delivers added depth, finesse, and a distinctly layered character. This is a Ripasso with real pedigree, showing why the Valpolicella region remains so highly regarded.

Tasting Notes
In the glass, it shows a deep, polished ruby color with plenty of concentration. The nose is expressive and inviting, opening with blackberry, warm spices like cardamom, and dark chocolate, with subtle hints of dried fruit and oak in the background. On the palate, it is full-bodied and richly textured, yet lifted by clean, vibrant acidity that keeps the wine beautifully balanced. The fruit is generous and ripe, supported by savory complexity and a long, classically structured finish. It has the substance to age well over the medium term, gaining even more softness and nuance with a few years in bottle.

Production
Le Muraie comes from a single vineyard and is made from the traditional Valpolicella grapes Corvina, Rondinella, and Molinara. After fermentation, the wine undergoes the Ripasso process using the pomace from Recioto, which adds extra depth, color, and aromatic complexity. It is then matured in large Slovenian oak casks, a choice that preserves the wine’s fruit purity while building structure and refinement.

Food & Serving
This wine is an excellent match for hearty dishes such as roast beef, braised meats, and rich stews like Osso Buco. It also works well with game, mushroom-based dishes, and aged hard cheeses. Serve at around 16–18°C, and consider decanting for about 30–60 minutes to allow the aromas and textures to open fully.
