Description
Ferrari Maximum Blanc de Blancs Brut Magnum is a refined Trento DOC sparkling wine that showcases the pure elegance of Chardonnay from the heights of Trentino-Alto Adige. Crafted in a generous magnum format, it’s designed for the restaurant world and special occasions where freshness, finesse and detail truly matter. This cuvée embodies Ferrari’s long-standing expertise in metodo classico, bringing Italian sophistication to the table with every pour.
Tasting Notes
In the glass, Ferrari Maximum Blanc de Blancs Brut shines a bright, pale straw yellow with a fine, persistent bead of tiny bubbles that speaks to its quality and careful bottle fermentation. On the nose, it is intensely fragrant and precise, offering notes of green apple, ripe pear, citrus zest and white flowers, layered with hints of toasted bread, fresh almonds and a delicate mineral lift.
The palate is crisp and vibrant yet beautifully balanced, with a lively acidity that frames flavors of lemon, Granny Smith apple, and a touch of stone fruit. Subtle brioche and biscuit nuances from extended lees aging add depth and creaminess without overpowering the wine’s innate freshness. The finish is long, clean and saline, leaving a sense of precision and finesse. Enjoy it now for its energy and brightness, or over the next few years to allow the toasty and nutty secondary notes to become more pronounced.
Production
Sourced from high-altitude vineyards in Trentino-Alto Adige, this Blanc de Blancs reflects a cool Alpine climate and mineral-rich soils that are ideal for premium sparkling Chardonnay. The grapes are typically hand-harvested at optimal ripeness to preserve natural acidity and aromatic purity. Following gentle pressing, the base wine is fermented in stainless steel to maintain freshness, then bottled for a second fermentation following the traditional metodo classico (Champagne method). The wine is aged on its lees for an extended period in the cool cellars of Ferrari, developing finesse, complexity and a very fine mousse before disgorgement and a carefully judged dosage.
Food & Serving
Ferrari Maximum Blanc de Blancs Brut Magnum is a natural partner for refined seafood dishes such as oysters, scallop crudo, shrimp tartare and delicately prepared white fish, as well as sushi and sashimi. It also pairs beautifully with light appetizers, tempura, goat cheese, and elegant vegetable dishes, making it a versatile choice for aperitifs or multi-course menus. Serve well-chilled at around 6–8°C (43–46°F). Decanting is not necessary, but pouring the first glass and giving the wine a few minutes in the glass will allow its aromas to fully open.
Producer
Founded in 1902 by Giulio Ferrari, Ferrari has become one of Italy’s most celebrated producers of metodo classico sparkling wines and a benchmark for Trento DOC. Nestled in the mountains of Trentino-Alto Adige, the estate was among the pioneers in recognizing Chardonnay’s potential in the region’s cool Alpine climate. Over the decades, Ferrari has earned numerous awards and international recognition for its elegant, terroir-driven sparkling wines, cementing its status as a flagship producer and a leading ambassador for Italian traditional-method bubbles on the global stage.
