Tasting Notes
In the glass, this Pinot Noir shows a vibrant, translucent ruby hue. The bouquet is lifted and distinctive, with notes of Sevilla orange, blackcurrant jam, and pink pepper, layered over subtle floral and savory undertones. On the palate, it feels focused and energetic, with a dense core of bright acidity, supple tannins, and a refined, medium-bodied texture. The 2021 vintage brings excellent balance and freshness, while the low alcohol and ripe tannins suggest both immediate appeal and a graceful aging window over the next several years.

Production
Occidental Ridge Vineyard lies just outside the town of Occidental on the Sonoma Coast, rising to around 800 feet above sea level. Established in 1999 and farmed by Richard Radcliffe, the site is divided into three separate blocks, each planted with a different Dijon clone of Pinot Noir. The 2021 season was warm but moderate, with cool, even conditions during harvest that allowed for optimal tannin ripeness at modest alcohol levels. Yields were slightly lower than average, contributing to the wine’s freshness, aromatic lift, and classic structure.

Food & Serving
This Pinot Noir is an excellent match for roasted duck, herb-crusted salmon, wild mushroom dishes, or pork tenderloin with a fruit-forward sauce. Serve it slightly chilled, ideally around 15–16°C, and consider a brief decant of 20–30 minutes if opening young, to let the aromas fully unfold.
