Donnhof Oberhauser Brucke Riesling Spatlese 2025

A finely balanced sweet Riesling Spätlese from Oberhäuser Brücke, Dönnhoff’s historic monopole vineyard in Germany’s Nahe region. Its combination of ripe fruit, graceful sweetness and bright acidity makes it an expressive example of this celebrated site.

Tasting Notes
Pale in appearance, it opens with aromas of pear, yellow rose, orange blossom and tropical fruit. The palate is airy yet creamy, revealing white peach, lemon cream, vanilla and caramel, lifted by lime and lychee.

Production
Oberhäuser Brücke’s clay-rich slate, covered with loess, and its favourable microclimate support late ripening and contribute a distinctive mineral character. The grapes are selectively hand-harvested in successive passes; fermentation is slow and largely spontaneous, followed by maturation in stainless steel to preserve the fruit and freshness. The wine is described as vegan.

Food & Serving
Serve well chilled, around 8–10°C, with fruit desserts, fresh fruit or a selection of cheeses. Its sweetness and lively acidity also make it a lovely match for gently spiced dishes. Decanting is not essential; a brief rest in the glass can help the aromas unfold.
