Domaine Vial-Magneres Armenn Collioure Blanc 2018 is a distinctive Mediterranean white wine that showcases just how expressive Grenache can be when grown with the sea in sight. Made from a finely tuned blend of Grenache Gris and Grenache Blanc, with a small supporting cast of aromatic varieties, it captures the salty energy and sunlit character of Collioure in a wonderfully polished style.

Tasting Notes
In the glass, this wine shows a bright, inviting colour and a lively, Mediterranean freshness. The nose is expressive and layered, with notes of wildflowers, stone fruit and dried fruit, lifted by a subtle seaside salinity that gives the wine real definition. The palate is generous yet precise, with ripe fruit balanced by a mineral, saline edge and a refreshing sense of tension. It has a vivid, textured finish and enough structure to develop gracefully over the next few years, gaining additional complexity while remaining fresh and elegant.

Production
The grapes come from old vines with an average age of around 70 years, rooted in the Armenn area between Banyuls and Port-Vendres, where the cooler influence of the Mediterranean allows for a long and even ripening period. The fruit is harvested by hand, and fermentation takes place spontaneously in cement tanks and used oak barrels. The wine is then aged sur lie in large, older oak casks to build texture and depth without overpowering the fruit.

Food & Serving
This is an excellent partner for grilled fish, shellfish and other Mediterranean seafood dishes, where its saline freshness and fruit-forward profile really shine. Serve it chilled at around 10-12°C, and decanting is generally not necessary, although a short aeration can help open up the wine if enjoyed young.
