Tasting Notes
Expect a richly scented style, with ripe peach and exotic fruit joined by subtle smoky, stone-like notes. On the palate, concentrated fruit and a firm, lively line of acidity create both breadth and freshness; delicate spice and mineral tones help keep the wine balanced. Fresh almond and mandarin notes have been described in a previous-vintage tasting, alongside a long finish. The precise profile will vary with the 2022 vintage, but this Marsanne–Roussanne blend should be enjoyable on release and may develop further over the next few years if stored well.

Food & Serving
Serve lightly chilled, around 10–12°C. It should pair well with roast chicken, grilled fish, creamy dishes or vegetables with herbs. A short rest in the glass can help open up its aromas; extended decanting is unlikely to be necessary.

Producer
François Villard founded his domaine in the northern Rhône in the late 1980s, having first trained as a chef. He has since become one of the region’s prominent independent producers, making wines across appellations including Condrieu, Côte-Rôtie and Saint-Joseph. His domaine is particularly known for expressive wines that balance ripe fruit with the character of their Rhône origins.
