Description

Domaine de la Romanée-Conti Assorteret 2009 is the definition of great Burgundy and one of the most coveted collector’s sets in the wine world. This rare assortment brings together six of the estate’s most iconic Grand Cru wines from the outstanding 2009 vintage: Romanée-Conti, La Tâche, Richebourg, Romanée-Saint-Vivant, Grands Échezeaux, and Échezeaux. More than just a collection, it offers a remarkable glimpse into the artistry and heritage of one of Burgundy’s most legendary domaines.

Tasting Notes
Each wine in the set expresses a distinct facet of Pinot Noir at its highest level. Romanée-Conti is the jewel in the crown, celebrated for its extraordinary finesse, depth, and layered complexity, while La Tâche brings monumental power and a captivating spectrum of aromas. Richebourg shows structure, concentration, and striking personality, and Romanée-Saint-Vivant offers silkier, more perfumed elegance. Grands Échezeaux and Échezeaux round out the experience with balance, energy, and vivid terroir expression. The 2009 vintage is renowned for its ripe fruit, intensity, and natural harmony, giving the wines both immediate charm and the structure to evolve beautifully over time. These are wines built for long aging, with the potential to gain even greater nuance, savoury depth, and aromatic sophistication over decades.

Production
Sourced from some of the most prestigious Grand Cru vineyards in Vosne-Romanée and surrounding climats, this assortment reflects the exceptional terroir that has made Domaine de la Romanée-Conti famous worldwide. The 2009 growing season delivered ideal conditions, allowing the grapes to reach perfect ripeness while preserving freshness and precision. Harvested with meticulous care and vinified according to the estate’s exacting standards, each wine captures a distinct parcel and a singular expression of Pinot Noir.

Food & Serving
These wines deserve refined dishes that complement their complexity and delicacy, such as roasted duck, pigeon, veal, truffle risotto, or wild mushroom dishes. For the most expressive service, serve at around 16–18°C and allow the wines time in the glass. Decanting is best approached gently and selectively, especially for the most mature bottles, as excessive aeration may diminish their aromatic subtlety; when in doubt, a short, careful decant is sufficient.

Producer
Domaine de la Romanée-Conti is one of Burgundy’s most prestigious and historic estates, revered for producing some of the world’s most sought-after wines. Based in Vosne-Romanée, the domaine has long been associated with excellence, scarcity, and a profound respect for terroir. Its Grand Cru holdings and unwavering commitment to quality have made it a benchmark for Pinot Noir and a global icon among fine wine collectors.
