Domaine Chanzy Rully 1er Cru La Fosse Rouge 2024 is an elegant, terroir-driven Pinot Noir from one of Rully’s most respected Premier Cru sites. While Rully is best known for its whites, La Fosse shows just how compelling the region can be for fine red Burgundy, combining freshness, finesse, and depth in a beautifully balanced style.

Tasting Notes
In the glass, the wine shows a graceful Bourgogne profile with vivid red and dark fruit notes at its core. Aromas of cherry, blackberry, and blackcurrant are layered with subtle spice, forest floor, and a discreet touch of oak, giving the nose both charm and complexity. The palate is concentrated yet refined, with lively acidity and firm, well-integrated tannins shaping a wine of precision and length. Mineral tension runs through the fruit, while the oak ageing adds structure and polish without overshadowing the wine’s natural purity. Enjoyable already, it also has the depth to develop beautifully over the next 10–15 years.

Production
La Fosse is a Premier Cru vineyard on the limestone- and clay-rich slopes of the Côte Chalonnaise, benefiting from a southeast-facing exposure that helps achieve excellent ripeness while preserving freshness. Domaine Chanzy works with careful, respectful vinification aimed at expressing the individuality of the site and the purity of the Pinot Noir fruit, with oak ageing used to add finesse and structure rather than dominate the wine.

Food & Serving
This is an excellent match for veal, poultry, lamb, game, and mushroom-based dishes, where its elegance and subtle earthy character can really shine. Serve at around 16–18°C, and consider decanting for about 30–60 minutes if drinking young to help the wine open up and reveal its full aromatic complexity.
