Tasting Notes
Deep and intensely coloured in the glass, the wine opens with a complex bouquet of blackcurrant, blackberry, violet, graphite, tobacco, black truffle and cedar. On the palate, concentrated dark fruit is layered with mineral nuances, spice and refined herbal notes. Despite its remarkable power, Maya 2021 is beautifully balanced, with silk-textured tannins, vibrant freshness and an exceptionally long finish. Already compelling, the wine will benefit from time in bottle as its structure softens and its aromatic complexity develops. With suitable cellaring, it has the potential to evolve for several decades, revealing further layers of savoury, earthy and mineral character.

Production
Maya is produced from Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc grown on Dalla Valle’s volcanic hillside vineyards in Oakville, one of Napa Valley’s most distinguished Cabernet-producing areas. The site’s mineral-rich soils and elevated position contribute freshness, structure and depth to the finished wine. The grapes are carefully selected and harvested at optimal ripeness, then crafted to preserve the fruit’s concentration, precision and natural balance. Specific details of the vintage’s vinification and maturation are not provided.

Food & Serving
Serve at approximately 16–18°C. Decant for one to two hours before serving, particularly in its youth, to allow the wine’s layers to unfold. Its depth and structure make it an excellent match for prime rib, grilled or roasted beef, venison, lamb, wagyu and dishes featuring black truffle or richly reduced sauces. It can also be enjoyed on its own as a contemplative after-dinner wine.
