In the glass, this Porto Tawny 10 Years Old shows a deep amber colour with brick-orange highlights at the rim, a visual cue to its decade of barrel aging. The nose is generous and layered, opening with toasted nuts, caramelised orange peel and dried figs, followed by hints of toffee, roasted coffee bean, subtle spice and a delicate touch of vanilla from seasoned wood. On the palate, it is silky and medium‑bodied, with a fine balance between sweetness and vibrant acidity. Flavours of almond, hazelnut and walnut mingle with dried apricot, sultanas and dates, supported by notes of butterscotch, cocoa and a gentle savoury edge. This style is intended for drinking upon release, but an opened bottle stored cool and properly sealed will hold its character over several weeks, allowing you to enjoy it slowly.

Production
Sourced from steep, schistous vineyards in Portugal’s Douro region, Conceito’s Porto Tawny 10 Years Old is built on low-yielding, old vines of Tinta Barroca, Tinta Cão, Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca and Tinta Roriz. Hand-harvesting ensures that only perfectly ripe, healthy grapes reach the winery. After a short, intense maceration and fermentation—traditionally with gentle extraction to preserve fruit purity—the wine is fortified with high-quality grape spirit to halt fermentation and retain natural sweetness. It then ages for an average of 10 years in seasoned oak casks in the Douro, where controlled oxidation slowly builds its amber colour, nutty complexity and signature tawny character. The final blend is assembled from different casks and ages to achieve an ideal balance of freshness, richness and aromatic depth.

Food & Serving
This 10-year-old tawny Port is a versatile after-dinner companion, pairing beautifully with crème brûlée, almond and hazelnut tart, pecan pie, fruitcake, and blue cheeses such as Stilton or Roquefort. It also works wonderfully with semi-hard cheeses, roasted nuts and dried fruit, or simply sipped on its own as a contemplative digestif. Serve lightly chilled, ideally at 12–14°C (54–57°F), to highlight its aromatic complexity and freshness. Decanting is generally not necessary for a 10-year-old tawny, but pouring gently into a clean carafe shortly before serving can help it open up if you prefer a more expressive bouquet.
