Why shop with us?
Coche-Dury Meursault Les Rougeots 2011 is a distinguished white Burgundy from one of Meursault’s most celebrated domaines. Made from Chardonnay and shaped by the estate’s meticulous cellar work, it combines the appellation’s characteristic richness with remarkable precision, mineral freshness and a long, graceful finish.
Tasting Notes
The wine shows a mature golden hue, often deepening with age. Its refined bouquet reveals ripe orchard fruit, lemon zest and white flowers, complemented by hazelnut, toasted almond and subtle brioche notes that emerge with bottle development. On the palate, it is textured and concentrated yet beautifully balanced, with flavours of pear, citrus and stone fruit supported by refreshing acidity and a gently saline, mineral character.
At its mature stage, the 2011 vintage offers both immediate pleasure and considerable complexity. It is best enjoyed now for its evolved aromas and layered palate, although well-stored bottles may continue to develop over the next few years.
Production
Les Rougeots is a Meursault lieu-dit situated in Burgundy’s Côte de Beaune, where limestone-rich soils and a relatively cool continental climate help Chardonnay retain freshness beneath its natural richness. Coche-Dury is known for careful vineyard management, low yields and meticulous harvesting, followed by gentle pressing and a traditional élevage in oak. The wine’s balance of fruit, texture and mineral detail reflects both the Meursault terroir and the domaine’s highly precise winemaking style.
Food & Serving
Serve lightly chilled at approximately 11–13°C, allowing the wine to open gradually in the glass. It pairs beautifully with roast chicken, lobster, crab, grilled or poached fish, scallops and creamy poultry or mushroom dishes. Mature examples can be served immediately, though a brief decant of 20–30 minutes may help reveal the wine’s tertiary aromas without diminishing its freshness.
Producer
Founded in the 1920s, Coche-Dury has become one of Burgundy’s most revered domaines, particularly renowned for its age-worthy Meursault wines. Based in Meursault, the estate combines small-scale production with exceptionally rigorous vineyard and cellar practices, resulting in wines prized for their concentration, longevity and detailed expression of place. Its bottles are among the most sought-after white Burgundies, and the 2011 Meursault Les Rougeots offers an elegant opportunity to experience the domaine’s signature style at maturity.
