Crafted from Garnacha, Cariñena, Syrah, and Cabernet Sauvignon grown on steep slate soils, it reflects both the rugged terroir of Priorat and the thoughtful winemaking that has made Mas Martinet one of Catalonia’s most respected names.

Tasting Notes
Deep and youthful in the glass, Clos Martinet 2021 shows a dense, dark-fruited profile with layers of blackcurrant, cherry, and ripe plum. Hints of spice, graphite, and smoky minerality add complexity, while the wine’s fresh acidity keeps the palate lively and precise. Full-bodied and beautifully structured, it offers polished tannins, excellent balance, and a long, persistent finish with subtle oak influence and a slightly toasted nuance. The wine is approachable now, but it has the concentration and backbone to evolve gracefully over the next several years.

Production
The grapes come from the steep, slate-rich slopes of Priorat, where poor soils, low yields, and intense sun create wines of remarkable concentration and character. Mas Martinet works with modern vinification methods, carefully harvesting the fruit to preserve freshness and balance before aging the wine in French oak barrels to build complexity and texture.

Food & Serving
This is an ideal match for roasted lamb, grilled beef, game, or slow-cooked dishes with herbs and rich sauces. Serve at 16–18°C, and consider decanting for one to two hours if drinking young to let the wine fully open.
