Description
Clomanet Terre Rousse Syrah Grenache Rosé 2023 is a charming southern French rosé that captures the easy elegance of Languedoc. Made from Syrah and Grenache, it offers the kind of fresh, expressive style that has made rosé one of the region’s great calling cards.
Tasting Notes
Bright and inviting in the glass, this rosé shows a delicate pale pink hue with a lively, youthful shine. The nose is packed with wild red berry aromas—strawberry, raspberry, and redcurrant—framed by a clean, breezy freshness that feels very Mediterranean.
On the palate, it is crisp, juicy, and immediately refreshing, with plenty of red berry fruit and a dry, supple finish. The wine is all about balance and drinkability rather than weight, making it ideal for relaxed sipping now. It is best enjoyed young and fresh for its vibrant fruit expression, though it should hold nicely over the near term.
Production
Sourced from Coteaux d’Ensérune in Languedoc, one of southern France’s oldest winegrowing areas, the vineyards benefit from a warm Mediterranean climate tempered by cooling sea influences. The region’s long viticultural history dates back to Roman times, and the terroir is well suited to producing aromatic, fresh rosé wines with good natural balance. The estate has been converted to organic farming, reflecting a careful, low-intervention approach that prioritizes healthy vines and expressive fruit.
Food & Serving
This rosé is a natural match for green salads, grilled or baked salmon, light Mediterranean dishes, and anything with a touch of acidity or herbaceousness. Serve well chilled, ideally around 10°C, and there is no need to decant—simply open and enjoy.
Producer
Clomanet is associated with Château Régismont, a family estate now guided by Bernard Paillet, a fourth-generation winemaker who has spent more than a decade converting the property to organic viticulture. The producer’s philosophy centers on respectful farming and wines that are fresh, elegant, and expressive, and that commitment has helped define the estate’s identity in the Languedoc region.
