Tasting Notes
In the glass, it typically shows a deep ruby color with garnet reflections. The nose opens with ripe blackcurrant, plum, and dark cherry, supported by cedar, tobacco, graphite, and a subtle earthy, smoky edge that reflects its Bordeaux pedigree. On the palate, it is supple and polished, with fine-grained tannins, fresh acidity, and layered dark fruit framed by savoury spice and mineral complexity. It has the structure to age gracefully for several years, developing more tertiary notes of leather, truffle, and forest floor with time.

Production
Sourced from the gravelly soils of Pessac-Léognan, where excellent drainage and a temperate Atlantic-influenced climate help preserve freshness and complexity, Clarence de Haut-Brion is crafted with the same careful attention as the Grand Vin. The fruit is typically harvested by hand and vinified parcel by parcel, with fermentation and maturation managed to preserve elegance, purity, and the distinctive style of the estate.

Food & Serving
This wine pairs beautifully with roast lamb, duck breast, beef tenderloin, mushroom dishes, and aged hard cheeses. Serve it at around 16–18°C, and decant for about 30–60 minutes if enjoyed young to allow the aromas and textures to fully open.
