Sourced from high-altitude vineyards in Luján de Cuyo, it captures the elegance, concentration, and freshness that have made Cheval des Andes one of Argentina’s most admired premium reds.

Tasting Notes
In the glass, the wine shows a deep, intense colour with the dark core you’d expect from a serious Mendoza red. The nose is layered and expressive, opening with ripe blackberry, cherry, and plum, then unfolding into floral notes of violet, along with tobacco, cedar, and subtle spice. The palate is both generous and poised, combining the juicy depth of Malbec with the structure and backbone of Cabernet Sauvignon, supported by Petit Verdot in a more discreet role. Silky tannins, vibrant freshness, and a long, polished finish give the wine impressive balance and length. With its concentration and structure, it should age beautifully over the coming years.

Production
Cheval des Andes comes from high-altitude vineyards in Mendoza, where dry conditions, abundant sunshine, and marked day-night temperature swings help preserve freshness while building ripe, concentrated fruit. The 2021 vintage benefited from a relatively cool growing season, which contributed to the wine’s elegance, tension, and finely tuned structure. Careful harvesting and precise vinification are key to preserving the purity of fruit and the layered character of the final blend.

Food & Serving
This is an excellent match for grilled ribeye, lamb chops, roast beef, game, or rich mushroom dishes. It also works beautifully with hard aged cheeses. Serve at 16-18°C and consider decanting for 1-2 hours if drinking young, to allow the aromatics and structure to open fully.
