Tasting Notes
In the glass, the wine shows a deep garnet core with mature ruby reflections, hinting at both concentration and graceful evolution. The nose is richly expressive, unfolding with blackberries, blackcurrants and ripe cherries, followed by notes of spice, smoke, leather and a subtle truffle nuance that adds depth and intrigue. On the palate, it is full-bodied and generous, yet beautifully composed. Soft, well-integrated tannins support flavors of dark berries, wild herbs, cocoa and savory minerals, while bright acidity keeps the wine vivid and balanced. The finish is long, spicy and distinctly mineral, and while it is fully enjoyable now, it still has the structure to hold for further aging.

Production
This wine comes from Château de Beaucastel’s historic vineyards in Châteauneuf-du-Pape, where the soils are famously varied, with rolled pebbles, clay, sand and limestone contributing to complexity and freshness. The Hommage à Jacques Perrin cuvée is centered on Mourvèdre, often making up 60-70% of the blend, complemented by Grenache, Syrah and Cinsault. The grapes are carefully harvested and vinified with a focus on preserving concentration, balance and the distinctive character of the estate’s old vines.

Food & Serving
Best served with slow-roasted lamb, game, beef fillet or richly flavored dishes such as herb-crusted duck and truffle-infused cuisine. Serve at 16-18°C, and decanting for 1-2 hours is recommended to allow the wine’s mature aromas and complex layers to fully open.
