Château de Beaucastel’s 2021 Châteauneuf-du-Pape is a concentrated, characterful Rhône red, distinguished by Mourvèdre-like notes of truffle and tree bark alongside ripe dark fruit. It is a compelling result from a challenging vintage, made in one of the Rhône Valley’s most historically renowned appellations.

Tasting Notes
The nose and palate combine ripe black cherry and plum with crushed-stone minerality, dark chocolate, and pronounced notes of truffle and tree bark. Full-bodied and richly concentrated, it has gentle tannins and a long, velvety finish with lingering echoes of liquorice and dark fruit. The supplied tasting notes do not specify its appearance or a drinking window; decanting can help the wine open up if enjoyed young.

Food & Serving
Serve at around 16–18°C with roast lamb, grilled beef, slow-cooked game, or hearty mushroom dishes. If opening in its youth, decant for about an hour and taste as it develops.
