Why shop with us?
A powerful, finely balanced Pauillac from the celebrated 2010 Bordeaux vintage, Château Clerc Milon 2010 combines concentrated fruit with the structure and elegance expected of a Fifth Growth. Owned by the Rothschild family since 1970, the estate’s vineyards lie close to Château Mouton Rothschild and Château Lafite Rothschild; the wine has earned high praise from critics including Jane Anson, Robert Parker and James Suckling.
Tasting Notes
Deep ruby in colour, it opens with an expressive bouquet of blackcurrant, dark cherry and blackberry, layered with cedar, tobacco, graphite and dark chocolate. The palate is concentrated and composed, with ripe tannins, vibrant freshness and a long finish carrying subtle spice and mineral notes.
Already enjoyable, the wine has plenty of structure for further development. With optimal storage, it is expected to evolve well through 2045–2050.
Production
The vineyards sit in the heart of Pauillac, near some of the appellation’s most celebrated estates. The 2010 growing season brought abundant sunshine, cool nights and favourable conditions at harvest, helping produce grapes with concentration, freshness and firm structure. Specific harvesting methods and vinification details are not provided.
Food & Serving
Serve at 16–18°C, allowing the wine to breathe for 1–2 hours in a decanter. Its structure and savoury complexity make it a natural match for roast or grilled lamb, beef, venison and other richly flavoured dishes.
Producer
Château Clerc Milon is a classified Pauillac estate whose wines are ranked as Fifth Growths in the 1855 Bordeaux Classification. The property has belonged to the Baron Philippe de Rothschild family since 1970, linking it to one of Bordeaux’s most influential wine dynasties. Its position among Pauillac’s leading vineyards and the strong critical reception of the 2010 vintage underline the estate’s standing in the region.
