Charles Heidsieck Brut Réserve NV is a richly styled Champagne that brings together more than 60 crus and 150 individual wines for remarkable depth and complexity. Built around the house’s signature elegance and texture, it combines breadth, precision, and a distinctly luxurious character that has long made Charles Heidsieck one of Champagne’s most admired names.
Tasting Notes
Pale gold in the glass with a lively, refined mousse, this Brut Réserve opens with layered aromas of brioche, pastry, ripe orchard fruit, beeswax, and gentle spice. On the palate it is medium to full-bodied, with a generous core of fleshy fruit, delicate acidity, and a precise mousse that gives the wine both charm and structure.
The balance of reserve wines adds a sense of maturity and complexity, while the blend’s Pinot Noir and Chardonnay drive both richness and finesse. It is delicious now for its silky texture and expressive fruit, but it also has the concentration and freshness to develop beautifully over the next several years.
Production
This Champagne is crafted from 40% Pinot Noir, 40% Chardonnay, and 20% Pinot Meunier, with 50% reserve wines contributing to its signature depth and consistency. The blend draws from over 60 crus across Champagne, bringing together different terroirs to create complexity, balance, and a layered aromatic profile. It was disgorged with a dosage of nine grams per liter, helping to preserve the wine’s rounded, generous style while maintaining freshness.
Food & Serving
Excellent with oysters, scallops, sushi, roast chicken, creamy cheeses, or canapés such as gougères and smoked salmon blinis. Serve well chilled at 8–10°C. Decanting is not necessary; simply open shortly before serving to enjoy its freshness and fine mousse at their best.
Producer
Charles Heidsieck is one of Champagne’s most respected houses, known for its distinctive style that combines generosity, precision, and impressive ageing character. Founded in 1851, the house has built a strong reputation in the region for producing deeply expressive wines with remarkable texture and complexity. Its Brut Réserve remains a benchmark for non-vintage Champagne and a clear reflection of the house’s enduring quality.
