Ceritas Mindego Pinot Noir 2023 is an elegant, terroir-driven expression of Pinot Noir from California’s cool-climate Santa Cruz Mountains. Sourced from Elliott Vineyard, it combines concentrated red-fruit character with vibrant acidity, fine tannins and a subtle mineral edge—hallmarks of the region’s distinctive high-altitude vineyards.

Tasting Notes
The wine is pale ruby red with translucent edges. Its refined nose opens with ripe cherry, raspberry and wild strawberry, followed by notes of forest floor, gentle spice and a discreet smoky nuance from time in oak. On the palate, it is elegant and medium-bodied, with fresh acidity, soft yet defined tannins and a long, polished finish where red fruit is balanced by mineral tones and restrained oak. Enjoyable in its youth for its freshness and finesse, the 2023 vintage also has the structure to develop over the next few years. With additional bottle age, the fruit should become more integrated while earthy and savoury nuances gain complexity.

Production
The Pinot Noir comes from Elliott Vineyard in the Santa Cruz Mountains, where cool conditions, elevation, strong sun exposure and well-drained, stony soils help produce concentrated grapes with bright acidity and pronounced site character. The fruit is handled gently with a proportion of whole clusters and fermented using native yeast. Moderate use of French oak during several months of maturation adds texture and complexity while allowing the delicate Pinot Noir aromas to remain at the forefront.

Food & Serving
Serve lightly chilled at around 14–16°C. This refined Pinot Noir pairs particularly well with roast poultry, lighter meat dishes, gently prepared game and mushroom-based recipes, as well as dishes featuring green vegetables. Decanting is not essential when serving the wine young, although 20–30 minutes in a decanter can help open its aromas and reveal its full finesse.
