Ceritas Elliott Vineyard Pinot Noir 2023 is a refined, terroir-driven expression from California’s cool-climate Santa Cruz Mountains. Grown at elevation in rocky, well-drained soils, it combines vibrant red-fruit character with delicate structure, mineral freshness and the graceful style associated with premium California Pinot Noir.

Tasting Notes
The wine shows a pale ruby-red colour with translucent edges. On the nose, ripe cherry and raspberry mingle with strawberry, forest floor, gentle spice and a subtle smoky note from its time in oak. Elegant and medium-bodied on the palate, it offers fresh acidity, supple yet defined tannins and a long, polished finish. The bright fruit is balanced by mineral nuances and restrained oak, allowing the vineyard character to remain at the forefront. Enjoyable in its youth, it should also develop greater aromatic complexity and depth over the next few years.

Production
The Pinot Noir comes from Elliott Vineyard in the Santa Cruz Mountains, where cool conditions, elevation, strong sunlight and rocky, freely draining soils help produce concentrated yet finely balanced fruit. The grapes are handled gently with the use of whole clusters and fermented with native yeast. Moderate maturation in French oak barrels adds texture and subtle smoky complexity without overwhelming the variety’s delicate aromatics.

Food & Serving
Serve slightly cool, at approximately 14–16°C. This elegant Pinot Noir is a natural match for roast poultry, duck, lighter game dishes and preparations featuring mushrooms, herbs or green vegetables. It can be enjoyed without decanting, although a brief 20–30 minute decant may help open its aromas and bring added nuance to the palate.
