Casanova di Neri’s Brunello di Montalcino Tenuta Nuova is one of the estate’s most distinctive wines, combining meticulous research with a deeply expressive Sangiovese character. Sourced from the southern side of Montalcino, it reflects both elegance and power, with Mediterranean nuance, refined tannins, and the kind of precision that has made Tenuta Nuova a benchmark Brunello.

Tasting Notes
In the glass, it shows a deep ruby-red color with garnet highlights. The nose is intense and layered, opening with ripe red and dark fruit, then moving into spicy, Mediterranean, and earthy notes that add complexity and depth. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied and deeply textured, yet remains graceful and balanced. The fruit is vivid and flavorful, supported by structured tannins and a long, satisfying finish. While already expressive, it has the concentration and backbone to age beautifully for many years, gaining further nuance and harmony over time.

Production
Tenuta Nuova is crafted from 100% Sangiovese, including a clone from the Cerretalto vineyard, grown in a terroir south of Montalcino that brings sun, freshness, and a distinct Mediterranean profile. The grapes are harvested with great care, then undergo 23 days of fermentation and maceration to build structure and aromatic depth. Aging follows for 30 months in small oak barrels, then 18 months in bottle, allowing the wine to gain refinement while preserving the purity of the fruit.

Food & Serving
This Brunello is an excellent match for rich Tuscan dishes, grilled or roasted red meats, game, braised lamb, and slow-cooked stews. It also pairs well with aged hard cheeses and mushroom-based dishes. Serve at around 18°C, and consider decanting for at least 1–2 hours to let the wine fully open and show its complexity.
