Casanova di Neri’s 2021 Tenuta Nuova is a refined and energetic Brunello di Montalcino, combining bright fruit with the structure and elegance expected from one of Tuscany’s most celebrated appellations. Introduced in the early 1990s, Tenuta Nuova represented a stylistic turning point for the estate, with a focus on precision, maturity and a clear expression of place.

Tasting Notes
Bright ruby-red in appearance, the wine opens with lifted aromas of red berries, fresh cherries and delicate floral notes, complemented by an appealing aromatic freshness. The palate is medium-bodied and initially reserved, revealing greater harmony and expressive depth with air. Elegant, well-integrated tannins provide structure, while balanced acidity brings energy and length. This is a poised 2021 Brunello with the concentration and freshness to develop gracefully over the next decade or more.

Production
Produced from Brunello di Montalcino’s traditional grape, Sangiovese, Tenuta Nuova reflects the estate’s focus on precision and terroir-driven character. The 2021 vintage shows a notably bright and energetic fruit profile, with an aromatic lift that adds freshness to the wine’s expression. It is matured for 30 months in tonneaux rather than large oak casks, and the annual production is approximately 58,800 bottles.

Food & Serving
Enjoy with Tuscan dishes, grilled or braised beef, wild boar ragù, roast lamb, aged Pecorino Toscano or mushroom-based pasta. Serve at approximately 18°C after allowing the bottle to come to temperature. The wine benefits from decanting, particularly in its youth; a quick double decant can help reveal its more expressive and harmonious character, while a longer decant is suitable for serving immediately.
