Caravaglio Occhio di Terra Malvasia Salina 2025 is an expressive organic white wine from Salina, one of Sicily’s volcanic Aeolian Islands. Made from Malvasia di Lipari, a historic island variety, it combines ripe Mediterranean fruit with floral freshness, subtle spice and a lively saline character that reflects its maritime origins.

Tasting Notes
Bright and inviting in the glass, this aromatic white opens with generous notes of yellow peach, apricot and mango, followed by white flowers, sage and fresh citrus. The palate is soft and rounded, yet energised by refreshing acidity and a gently spicy, mineral edge. Its balance and structure make it enjoyable in its youth, while careful cellaring for a few years should allow the aromatic and savoury nuances to develop further.

Production
The Malvasia di Lipari grapes are grown on Salina in volcanic soils shaped by the island’s maritime climate. The organically farmed grapes are harvested by hand in early September and fermented in temperature-controlled tanks with native yeasts. A skin maceration of approximately ten days contributes texture, structure and aromatic depth, followed by malolactic fermentation and around six months of ageing on fine lees. The wine is lightly filtered before bottling to preserve the purity and character of the variety.

Food & Serving
Serve lightly chilled at approximately 10–12°C. Its combination of aromatic fruit, freshness and Mediterranean savouriness makes it a natural partner for grilled or baked fish, shellfish, seafood pasta, light antipasti and fresh cheeses. Decanting is not necessary, although opening the bottle shortly before serving can give its floral and herbal aromas time to unfold.

Its wines have earned recognition for their authenticity and quality, including a Tre Bicchieri award from Gambero Rosso for the 2023 vintage.
