Ca dei Frati Rosa dei Frati Rosato 2025 is one of Lake Garda’s most distinctive rosés, combining freshness, precision, and real table presence. Produced by the historic Cà dei Frati estate in Lugana di Sirmione, it reflects a long-standing commitment to vinifying each vineyard separately in order to preserve terroir expression and longevity.
Tasting Notes
Pale, bright rosé in the glass, Rosa dei Frati is immediate and inviting. The nose is fresh and lively, with crisp red berry notes, floral hints, and a subtle savory edge that gives it extra character.
On the palate, it is sharp, energetic, and mouthwatering, with a clean acidity that keeps the wine focused from start to finish. The blend of Groppello, Marzemino, Sangiovese, and Barbera brings balance and texture, while the absence of malolactic fermentation helps preserve its vibrant, dry style. Best enjoyed young for its primary freshness, though it can develop a little more nuance over the short to medium term.
Production
The grapes come from vineyards around Lake Garda, where limestone-rich clay, silt, and sandy soils help shape a rosé with both freshness and depth. Cà dei Frati pays close attention to the health and natural cycle of its vines, harvesting with precision to ensure optimal ripeness and balance. Vinification takes place in stainless steel with brief skin contact, followed by six months on fine lees and an additional two months in bottle before release, all designed to maintain purity and structure.
Food & Serving
This is an excellent aperitif rosé, but it really comes into its own at the table. Pair it with antipasti, light seafood dishes, grilled vegetables, risotto, white meats, or Mediterranean cuisine. Serve chilled at around 8–10°C, and decanting is not necessary.
Producer
Cà dei Frati is one of the landmark producers of Lugana, with roots in the area dating back to 1782. The estate is highly regarded for its meticulous vineyard work and its ability to translate the Garda terroir into wines of clarity, freshness, and longevity. Over the years, it has earned a strong reputation as one of the defining names of the region.
