Description

Bollinger Brut Spécial Cuvée is one of Champagne’s great house signatures, admired for its depth, finesse, and unmistakably Pinot Noir-driven style. Presented here with its gift box, it brings together richness, precision, and classic Bollinger character in a cuvée that has defined the house’s reputation for generations.

Tasting Notes
In the glass, it shows a fine, persistent mousse with a brilliant golden hue and elegant bead. The nose is layered and expressive, opening with ripe orchard fruit, baked citrus, toasted brioche, and subtle nutty notes, followed by hints of spice and dried flowers. The palate is generous yet beautifully balanced, combining structure, freshness, and creamy texture. Pinot Noir provides breadth and power, Chardonnay lends tension and lift, and Pinot Meunier rounds everything out with supple fruit. It finishes long, dry, and refined, with impressive aging potential for a non-vintage Champagne.

Production
Bollinger sources fruit from carefully selected vineyards across Champagne, with a strong focus on Premier and Grand Cru parcels, many of them planted on chalky, mineral-rich soils that give the wine its precision and tension. Harvesting is done by hand, as required in Champagne, with meticulous selection of grapes to preserve freshness and quality. The wine is vinified with great attention to detail, including reserve wines that add complexity and consistency to the final blend.

Food & Serving
This Champagne is wonderfully versatile at the table, pairing especially well with oysters, scallops, lobster, sushi, roast chicken, truffle dishes, and aged hard cheeses. Serve chilled at around 8–10°C, and while decanting is not recommended, allowing it a few minutes in the glass can help reveal its full aromatic range.

Producer
Founded in 1829, Champagne Bollinger is one of the most respected houses in the region and is known for its rich, Pinot Noir-led style and traditional craftsmanship. Based in Aÿ, the house has built a formidable reputation for quality, consistency, and age-worthy Champagne, earning a place among the benchmark producers of Champagne.
