Bodegas Demencia de Autor’s 2023 Godello offers a fresh, distinctive expression of Bierzo, a region better known for its Mencía reds. Made from a historic parcel planted in 1905, it reflects the potential of this indigenous white grape on Bierzo’s varied soils.

Godello from Bierzo is often prized for its freshness and vitality, particularly in a warm-climate context. Specific tasting notes for this vintage have not been provided; the wine’s time in French oak may lend additional texture and complexity.

Production
The grapes come from an old parcel with clay and loam soils, interspersed with slate and quartz. Winemaker Nacho Léon has farmed the vineyard since 2013, including through a transition to organic viticulture. The grapes are whole-bunch pressed, and the wine spends an initial four months in French barriques; further maturation details are not available.

Food & Serving
