Tasting Notes
In the glass, it shows a deep cherry-red colour with garnet reflections, hinting at its concentration and structure. The nose is intense and layered, opening with ripe black cherry, cassis, and blackberry, followed by toasted spices, vanilla, liquorice, cedar, and a subtle balsamic note. The palate is silky and concentrated, with impressive freshness that keeps the wine lifted and balanced. Dark fruit, spice, toast, and fine oak tones carry through to a long, harmonious finish, and while the 2022 vintage is still young, the wine has the structure and depth to develop beautifully over time.

Production
Malabrigo comes from a high-altitude vineyard in Ribera del Duero, where cooler conditions and distinctive soils help Tempranillo retain freshness while building flavour intensity and complexity. The grapes are harvested by hand with strict selection to ensure only the best fruit reaches the cellar. Vinification is carried out with an emphasis on preserving the vineyard’s natural brightness and expressive fruit, followed by approximately 18 months of ageing in French oak barrels. This élevage adds structure, spice, and complexity without overpowering the wine’s elegant fruit profile.

Food & Serving
This is an excellent match for grilled or roasted red meats, lamb, game, and rich dishes such as beef stew or Iberian pork. It also pairs well with mature cheeses and dishes with earthy or smoky elements. Serve at 16–18°C, and decanting for 1–2 hours is recommended to allow the wine to fully open, especially in its youth.
