Bergström Le Pré du Col Pinot Noir 2020 comes from Ribbon Ridge, one of Oregon’s most celebrated sites for Pinot Noir, where sandy, ancient seabed soils help shape a wine of remarkable finesse and depth. Produced in very limited quantities, this is a collector-worthy bottling that captures the elegance and complexity that have made Oregon Pinot Noir internationally admired.

Tasting Notes
The wine pours a deep, dark ruby-red in the glass. Aromatically, it is layered and expressive, with notes of blackberry, blueberry, mushroom, bouillon, tobacco, flint, and dark chocolate. On the palate, dark fruit takes the lead, joined by ripe strawberry, lavender, clove, cinnamon, and a subtle saline edge. The texture is silky and seamless, with impressive harmony and balance. While already highly appealing in its youth, it has the structure and concentration to develop beautifully over time.

Production
Le Pré du Col is sourced from the Ribbon Ridge AVA in Oregon, where the sandy soils—formed from ancient marine sediment—offer ideal conditions for Pinot Noir. The vineyard’s terroir brings natural freshness, aromatic lift, and refined tannins to the wine. The 2020 vintage was produced in an extremely limited run of just 500 cases, underscoring the meticulous, small-scale approach behind this bottling.

Food & Serving
This Pinot Noir is a superb match for roast lamb, pheasant, duck, and other game birds, as well as mushroom-based dishes and richer poultry preparations. Serve slightly chilled, ideally around 15–17°C, and decant for about 30 minutes if you’d like to open up the wine’s aromatic layers even more.
