Tasting Notes
In the glass, expect a garnet-red colour with brick-toned reflections that deepen with age. The nose is lifted and complex, with aromas of dried rose petals, cherry, licorice, tar, spice, and earthy forest notes, all unfolding gradually in the glass. On the palate, this Riserva typically shows firm yet refined tannins, vibrant acidity, and layers of dried red fruit, tobacco, leather, and savoury mineral nuance. The long ageing has likely brought greater harmony and softness, while preserving the wine’s classic Barolo structure. It should have excellent cellaring potential, rewarding further time in bottle for those who enjoy mature Nebbiolo.

Production
Made from Nebbiolo grown in Piedmont’s Barolo zone, this wine reflects the region’s cool climate, hillside vineyards, and calcareous marl soils, all of which contribute to Nebbiolo’s aromatic precision and natural tannic backbone. Harvesting is typically done by hand to select only the best fruit, and traditional vinification is followed by extended ageing, with this Riserva matured for 10 years to develop complexity, texture, and tertiary character.

Food & Serving
This is an ideal wine for rich, slow-cooked dishes such as braised beef, veal shank, game, truffle risotto, and aged cheeses. Serve at 16–18°C, and decant for at least 1–2 hours before pouring, especially if drinking soon after release, to allow the aromatics and structure to fully open up.
