Tasting Notes
In the glass, it shows a deep ruby color with subtle garnet reflections, hinting at its maturity. The nose is beautifully layered, offering ripe cherry, raspberry, and blackberry alongside violet, forest floor, tobacco, and a faint truffle-like earthiness. The palate is full-bodied and finely structured, with concentrated red and dark fruit wrapped around polished tannins and vibrant acidity. As it evolves, savory spice and woodland notes emerge, leading to a long, graceful finish. While already drinking well, it has the balance and complexity to continue improving with further cellaring.

Lavaux St. Jacques is one of Gevrey-Chambertin’s most distinguished Premier Cru vineyards, set in a small valley where cool winds from the Combe de Lavaux help preserve freshness and aromatic lift. The 2009 vintage brought generous ripeness and concentration, but the vineyard’s cooler exposition and Rousseau’s attentive vinification kept the wine precise and harmonious.
