Tasting Notes
In the glass, it shows the classic dark-fruited intensity of Gevrey-Chambertin, with layers of blackberry, black cherry, forest floor, leather, spice, and a subtle mineral edge. As it opens, more nuanced notes of dried flowers and earthy complexity emerge, adding lift and refinement. The palate is concentrated and firmly structured, yet beautifully balanced by ripe fruit and fresh acidity. The tannins are integrated but still assertive, supporting a long, persistent finish marked by hints of licorice, spice, and woodland character. It has excellent aging potential and will continue to gain complexity over time, though it is already showing the power and finesse of a top vintage.

This wine pairs beautifully with roast duck, pigeon, game birds, lamb, beef tenderloin, and dishes featuring mushrooms or truffles. Serve at around 16–18°C, and consider decanting for 1–2 hours if opening young or if the bottle has been resting in cellar for some time.
