Description

Domaine Armand Rousseau’s Chambertin Clos de Bèze Grand Cru 2014 is a beautiful expression of one of Burgundy’s most revered vineyards, brought to life by one of the region’s benchmark producers. The cooler 2014 growing season lent the wine remarkable freshness, precision, and finesse, while Clos de Bèze contributes the depth and authority that make this Grand Cru so legendary.

Tasting Notes
In the glass, this 2014 Clos de Bèze shows classic Pinot Noir elegance with a polished, refined presence. The nose opens with vivid red cherry and red currant, then unfolds into layers of forest floor, licorice, violet, subtle spice, and a clear mineral edge that keeps everything lifted and precise. The palate is all about balance and detail. Fine, silky tannins provide structure without heaviness, while the bright acidity gives energy to the ripe, juicy fruit. A long, graceful finish carries earthy, spicy, and faintly smoky nuances. While already expressive, it has the balance and backbone to develop beautifully over many years in bottle.

Production
Clos de Bèze is one of the most prestigious Grand Cru sites in Burgundy, prized for its limestone-rich soils and terroir that naturally combine finesse with depth. The 2014 vintage benefited from a cooler season that allowed for slow, even ripening and excellent aromatic purity. Domaine Armand Rousseau is known for meticulous vineyard work and traditional vinification that emphasizes clarity, site expression, and elegant structure.

Food & Serving
This wine pairs beautifully with refined dishes such as roast duck, pigeon, veal, game birds, wild mushrooms, or truffle-based preparations. Serve at around 16-18°C, and consider decanting for about 1-2 hours if drinking young to let the aromatics fully open and the texture soften.

Producer
Domaine Armand Rousseau is one of Burgundy’s most iconic estates, with a long-standing reputation for producing some of the region’s most sought-after Pinot Noirs. Founded in the early 20th century and deeply associated with Gevrey-Chambertin, the domaine has become a reference point for Grand Cru Burgundy, admired for its consistency, finesse, and remarkable vineyard expression.
