Description

Domaine Armand Rousseau’s Chambertin Clos de Bèze Grand Cru 2012 comes from one of Burgundy’s most revered and coveted vineyard sites, and it captures exactly why this legendary climat is so highly prized. With Rousseau’s hallmark precision, the wine balances power, perfume, and refinement in a style that reflects both the prestige of Clos de Bèze and the estate’s long-standing reputation for producing some of the region’s most sought-after Pinot Noir.

Tasting Notes
In the glass, it shows a deep, luminous garnet colour that hints at its concentration and structure. The nose opens with ripe red and dark berries — especially cherry and blackcurrant — layered with rose petals, violet, subtle spice, and a fine mineral undertone. The palate is generous and full-bodied, yet lifted by vibrant acidity that keeps the wine fresh and focused. Silky, well-defined tannins frame the fruit beautifully, while the finish is long, elegant, and gently spiced. While already highly expressive, this Grand Cru has the depth and balance to gain additional complexity with further cellaring.

Production
Made from Pinot Noir grown in the Grand Cru vineyards of Chambertin Clos de Bèze in Burgundy, the wine reflects a terroir renowned for its depth, finesse, and ability to produce wines of remarkable longevity. The vintage 2012 required careful vineyard work, and the resulting wine shows the precision and balance that come from strict selection and thoughtful vinification at Domaine Armand Rousseau.

Food & Serving
Best served at around 16–18°C, this wine is an excellent match for dishes that echo its elegance and structure, such as roast duck, pigeon, game birds, veal, or mushroom-based dishes. Decanting is recommended if opening young, though a gentle approach is best to preserve the wine’s delicate aromatic profile.

Producer
Domaine Armand Rousseau is one of Burgundy’s most celebrated estates, with a history rooted in the early 20th century and a reputation built on purity, terroir expression, and exceptional consistency. Based in Gevrey-Chambertin, the domaine is renowned for its Grand Cru holdings and is widely regarded as a benchmark producer for top-tier Côte de Nuits Pinot Noir.
