Argentiera Ventaglio 2019

Argentiera Ventaglio is a finely crafted 100% Cabernet Franc from the Tuscan coast, made by Argentiera from vineyards in a superb seaside location. This is a wine that combines coastal freshness with depth and structure, showing the precision and elegance that have made Cabernet Franc one of Tuscany’s most exciting varieties.

Tasting Notes
In the glass, it shows a deep, concentrated ruby color. The nose is aromatic and seductive, with layers of blackberry and raspberry lifted by notes of roasted meat, sea-breeze minerality, cloves, and mentholated tobacco. The palate is dense yet refined, with a beautifully proportioned tannic frame and a full, well-structured body. Juicy fruit and vibrant freshness are in balance throughout, leading to a harmonious, persistent finish. While already expressive, it has the structure to develop gracefully with further bottle age.

Production
Made from hand-harvested Cabernet Franc grapes picked in small boxes and carefully sorted twice before vinification. The grapes underwent a 25-day maceration at a controlled temperature of around 28–30°C, with alternating pump-overs and manual punching down to gently extract color, flavor, and tannin. Aging took place in barriques and tonneaux, partly new, made from French and Austrian oak, where malolactic fermentation was completed.

Food & Serving
This wine pairs especially well with grilled or roasted red meats, game, herb-crusted lamb, and rich mushroom dishes. It also works beautifully with aged cheeses and Mediterranean cuisine. Serve at 16–18°C, and decant for about 1–2 hours if opening young to allow the aromatics and texture to fully unfold.
