Tasting Notes
In the glass, Personalegetränk Øko typically shows a medium ruby color with a lively, almost translucent edge that hints at freshness rather than sheer power. The nose leans toward wild berries and red cherry from Zweigelt and Sankt Laurent, with darker cassis tones from Cabernet Sauvignon and a subtle lift of floral and citrus peel notes likely contributed by Welschriesling. Earthy undertones, dried herbs and a gentle spice from barrel aging round out the aromatic profile. On the palate, this is more about drinkability and character than heavy structure. Expect juicy red and black fruit, bright, mouthwatering acidity and fine, lightly grippy tannins. The white grape component adds a touch of freshness and a slightly saline, appetizing finish, making the wine feel energetic and highly digestible. Production
The Andert brothers farm about 4.5 hectares on dark, humus‑rich soils where the subsoil (B‑horizon) is mostly sandy clay with a medium‑coarse structure—conditions that naturally moderate vigor and help concentrate flavor. Since 2003, the estate has been cultivated biodynamically; from 2016 onward, plant protection has relied solely on teas and biodynamic preparations, with no fertilization, encouraging deep root systems and vibrant biodiversity in the vineyards. All grapes are harvested by hand to ensure that only healthy, fully ripe clusters make it into the cellar. Fermentation takes place with whole grapes in open vessels, using only indigenous yeasts and without temperature control due to the small size of the containers. There is little to no settling for the whites, and the red wines mature in wooden barrels in the estate’s vaulted cellar, where slow, gentle aging builds complexity and stability without stripping away the wine’s natural character.

Since converting in 2003, they have focused increasingly on the life of the vineyard rather than manipulation in the cellar, allowing a wide array of plant and animal species to thrive among the vines and create a naturally balanced ecosystem.
