Altemasi Trento Pas Dose 2020

Altemasi Trento Pas Dosé 2020 is a refined mountain sparkling wine made by the traditional method from Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. Its extended time on the lees and sugar-free dosage give it both depth and a notably pure expression of Trentino; the style reflects the region’s long-standing tradition of crafting bottle-fermented sparkling wines.

Tasting Notes
Pale straw-yellow in colour with green highlights, it has a fine, persistent mousse. The nose offers yellow plum and dried apricot, with a delicate hint of anise. On the palate, it is full-bodied yet elegant, with lively freshness, mineral character and a long, savoury finish. Its 60 months on the lees have brought added structure and complexity. It is ready to enjoy now; careful short-term cellaring may allow further integration, though specific aging guidance is not provided.

Production
The Chardonnay and Pinot Noir grapes come from high-altitude vineyards in Valle dei Laghi, the Cembra Valley and on the slopes of the Dolomites, at approximately 450–600 metres. Cool nights and warm days help preserve acidity, while stony, calcareous and fluvioglacial soils contribute mineral character. Harvest begins in late August, followed by gentle pressing and fermentation in stainless steel. The wine undergoes its second fermentation in bottle and spends 60 months on the lees before disgorgement without added sugar.

Food & Serving
Serve well chilled, around 6–8°C, in a tulip-shaped sparkling-wine glass to let its aromas develop. It should not need decanting. Its freshness and savoury, mineral finish suit seafood, oysters, delicate shellfish, mountain cheeses and light antipasti.
