Altare Elio Barolo is a stylish and expressive Barolo DOCG from La Morra in Piedmont, made entirely from Nebbiolo and shaped by one of the region’s most respected family estates. With its balance of power and elegance, it reflects both the modern precision of Elio Altare and the deep tradition of Barolo winemaking, which has been part of the family’s story since 1948.

Tasting Notes
In the glass, it shows a clear ruby-red color with garnet reflections, hinting at both youth and classic Barolo character. The nose is refined and inviting, offering elegant aromas of red fruits alongside the subtle floral lift typical of Nebbiolo. On the palate, it feels warm, poised, and graceful, with a fresh violet-scented finish and fine, supple tannins that keep the wine polished and approachable. While already expressive, it has the structure and depth to develop further with time in bottle.

Production
This Barolo comes from La Morra in the heart of Piedmont, where Nebbiolo thrives in a terroir known for producing wines of fragrance, finesse, and structure. The grapes undergo skin maceration in temperature-controlled rotofermenters for 4–5 days, followed by 24 months of aging in French barriques, a method that helps preserve purity of fruit while adding texture and complexity.

Food & Serving
A classic match for braised beef, roasted game, truffle dishes, mushroom risotto, and aged cheeses. Serve at around 16–18°C, and decant for about 1–2 hours if drinking young to allow the aromas and tannins to खुल fully.
