Adelina Polish Hill Riesling 2022

Adelina Polish Hill Riesling 2022 is a strikingly dry, highly mineral Australian Riesling that shows just how precise and expressive Clare Valley fruit can be. Sourced from old vines in the renowned Polish Hill region, it combines purity, low alcohol, and a beautifully tense structure in a style that has made the area one of Australia’s benchmark Riesling terroirs.

Tasting Notes
Pale in colour, this Riesling opens with a delicate yet lifted nose of green apple, elderflower, fennel, lime, and a distinct flinty edge. On the palate it is bone-dry and very focused, with bright acidity driving the wine and giving it both energy and definition. Despite its light frame and alcohol just under 11%, the wine delivers impressive intensity and a firm mineral backbone. It is already delicious now, but its structure and acidity suggest excellent ageing potential over the coming years, developing greater complexity and depth with bottle age.

Production
The fruit comes from Hill River Estate in Polish Hill, where more than 20-year-old vines are rooted in sandy, limestone-rich soils that help give the wine its signature mineral character. Winemaker Colin McBryde works with full destemming before crushing and pressing, a careful approach that preserves freshness and lets the vineyard character remain front and centre.

Food & Serving
This is a superb match for seafood of all kinds, especially oysters, shellfish, grilled prawns, sashimi, and delicate white fish. Serve well chilled at around 8–10°C; decanting is not necessary, though a little time in the glass will help the wine open beautifully.
