Description

AdamsWein Weißburgunder Ingelheim Bio 2023 is a characterful, organically farmed Pinot Blanc from the limestone-rich hills around Ingelheim in Rheinhessen. This is not a simple, fruit‑driven white, but a structured, finely spiced wine that puts terroir and texture at the forefront. Crafted in small quantities, it stands out for its combination of herbal elegance, subtle fruit and a distinctly mineral backbone.

Tasting Notes
In the glass, the 2023 Weißburgunder shows a pale to medium straw color with greenish highlights that hint at its freshness and youth. The nose is immediately more savory than many Pinot Blancs: instead of just primary fruit, you’ll find a subtle interplay of spice and herbal notes. Hints of pear compote, lemon zest and a touch of peach are woven together with aromas reminiscent of marigold blossom, young green walnut and fresh spring herbs like tarragon and chervil. On the palate, the wine is precise and textural, starting with a gentle creaminess that quickly tightens into a saline, mineral core. The acidity is bright and energetic, giving the wine real drive and length, while a fine, almost tannin‑like grip adds structure and a faint smoky, herbal bitterness on the finish. Dry and without noticeable residual sweetness, this Pinot Blanc is built more on tension and structure than on opulence, and will drink beautifully over the next 3–5 years as its spice and mineral notes continue to knit together.

Production
The fruit for AdamsWein Weißburgunder Ingelheim Bio 2023 comes from organically farmed vineyards around Ingelheim, where limestone and calcareous soils lend the wines their characteristic salinity and firmness. Careful, selective harvesting—often by hand—ensures only healthy, optimally ripe grapes reach the cellar. The must is handled gently to preserve purity, with a cool, controlled fermentation that emphasizes clarity of aroma over overt ripeness. Aging on fine lees adds a discreet creaminess and textural depth without masking the underlying mineral character, resulting in a Pinot Blanc that clearly reflects its limestone‑driven Rheinhessen terroir.

Food & Serving
This structured, savory Weißburgunder is an excellent match for nuanced, herb‑inflected dishes. Think grilled or pan‑seared white fish with fresh herbs, veal or poultry in light cream sauces, asparagus with hollandaise, or vegetable‑driven cuisine featuring fennel, peas or leeks. It also pairs well with mild, creamy cheeses and delicately flavored charcuterie. Serve well‑chilled but not icy, at around 9–11 °C, to allow the herbal and mineral notes to open up. A brief splash in a carafe or 15–20 minutes in the glass is enough air; extended decanting is not necessary, but slightly larger white wine glasses will highlight its texture and complexity.

Producer
AdamsWein is part of the new generation bringing fresh energy and precision to Rheinhessen, with a clear focus on site expression and sustainable viticulture. Working in and around Ingelheim, the estate has become known for its thoughtful, terroir‑driven interpretations of classic varieties like Weißburgunder, shaped by limestone soils and a relatively cool microclimate. Organic farming, careful handwork in the vineyard and a minimalist approach in the cellar underpin the style: wines that are tense, structured and gastronomic rather than simply fruity. This philosophy has made AdamsWein a go‑to name for those seeking distinctive, characterful whites from one of Germany’s most dynamic regions.
