Tasting Notes
In the glass, Aalto 2023 is deep and concentrated, with a dark ruby core and impressive density. The nose is layered with ripe cherry, plum, and blackberry, lifted by notes of spice, coffee, licorice, and subtle oak. On the palate, it combines generous fruit with a cool, focused backbone, giving the wine both richness and freshness. The tannins are silky and well integrated, supporting a full-bodied, harmonious style that feels luxurious without losing tension. The finish is long, precise, and balanced, and while the wine is already highly appealing, it has the structure to age gracefully for 8–12 years.

Production
Aalto 2023 is made entirely from Tinto Fino, sourced from 40- to 80-year-old vines in Castilla y León. The grapes are harvested by hand and undergo strict selection before fermentation and aging, with the wine spending around 17 months in a combination of French and American oak barrels. The result is a wine that reflects both the concentration of old vines and the measured use of oak.

Food & Serving
This is an excellent match for grilled or roasted red meats, lamb, game, braised beef, and richly flavored dishes such as beef stew or mushroom-based preparations. Serve at 16–18°C, and decant for 1–2 hours if drinking now to help the wine fully open up.
