Aalto 2020 Dobbeltmagnum

Aalto 2020 in double magnum format is a powerful yet refined Ribera del Duero red, crafted entirely from Tempranillo (Tinto Fino). Sourced from a careful selection of old-vine parcels and estate vineyards, it reflects the depth and seriousness that have made Aalto one of the region’s most respected names.

Tasting Notes
In the glass, it shows a dense, deep purple colour that signals concentration and structure. The nose is intense and layered, with dark berries, spice, toasted oak, and subtle hints of liquorice and tobacco. On the palate, it is full-bodied and richly textured, with ripe tannins, concentrated black fruit, and a long, balanced finish. The double magnum format supports slower evolution in bottle, making it especially appealing for long-term cellaring.

Production
Made from Tempranillo sourced from 40- to 80-year-old vines on selected leased vineyards in Ribera del Duero, as well as younger vines from Bodegas Aalto’s own sites in Valladolid. The grapes are hand-harvested and only the finest fruit is chosen for vinification, then the wine is matured for 16 months in a mix of new and used French and American oak barrels, adding complexity, depth, and polish.

Food & Serving
Best enjoyed with robust dishes such as grilled or roasted red meats, game, and mature hard cheeses. Serve at 16-18°C and decant before serving to allow the wine to open fully and show its aromatic depth.
