Tasting Notes
In the glass, this Port is deeply opaque and inky, hinting at its intensity before the first swirl. The nose opens with layers of blackberries, plum, cassis, and violets, lifted by graphite, cocoa, and a delicate spicy edge. The palate is immensely dense and focused, yet remarkably fresh and balanced. Silky but powerful tannins frame a long, mineral-driven finish with impressive complexity, and the wine has the structure to age gracefully for decades.

Production
The Nacional parcel sits within Quinta do Noval in the Douro Valley on schist-rich soils, where the ungrafted vines offer a rare glimpse into old-vine Port history. Harvested in very small quantities, the grapes are traditionally foot-trodden in granite lagares and then matured for around 18 months in large wooden casks before bottling.

Food & Serving
Serve this Vintage Port with blue cheeses such as Stilton or Roquefort, dark chocolate desserts, or rich game dishes. It is best enjoyed slightly below room temperature, around 16–18°C, and may benefit from decanting to separate sediment and allow the aromas to unfold.
